LESYA YANUSH
Lesya Yanush is a contemporary visual artist. Born in Ukraine, she moved to Washington state in her youth. Art has always been her center point to understanding and perceiving the world around her. For her art is a context and lens of perception, through which she understands others and feels that she can best be understood with.
Using art as a communications tool, her aim is to connect openly and freely and often in a more spiritual sense than language permits. Texture and color within her work communicate not only emotions, but also esoteric messages. Her signature style is based on the heavy layering of paint in a structural way that embodies waves, ripples and textures. The layers of paint represent the layers of life: time and understanding. She seeks to evoke moments of transition and evolution where the stillness of the canvas meets the movement of the paint.
Lesya currently lives and works in New York City, but exhibits internationally and her work is part of renowned public and private collections worldwide.
